The representatives of the corporate town of Havířov Ing. Zdeněk Osmanczyk – the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, Ing. Radmila Friedlová - the head of printing department MMH, Mgr. Rudolfa Treichelová – the chairwoman of cultural heritage committee) and the Union of Flower Growers and Florists of the Czech Republic (Ing. Jiří Martínek – a member of presidium SKF ČR, and a pedagogue of Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno) competed in Lillehammer in Norway for becoming the organiser of Europa Cup in Floristics in 2011. The presentation of the Czech Republic and the town of Havířov was held on Friday, 16th October and on Saturday, 17th October 2009. The representatives of the town and the Union made triumphant return with victory which was not easy. The rivals were Italy and Russia. The first day the town was evaluated by the Administrative Council FLORINT and the second day by the General Assembly FLORINT. The presentation of the Czech Republic was variant, the authorities of the international organisation FLORINT will choose suitable places for organising the championship and confirm the proposed topics for the competition at the next visitation (for further information look at the visitation of the representatives of FLORINT 21.1. - 23.1. 2010). The town of Havířov proposed and submitted new three logos of the most significant and well-known competition EUROPA CUP 2011 ( EC 2011). Shortly after return, the logos were modified. The logo was officially chosen and baptised in 2010.
