The heart of the city, has underwent massive reconstruction in the past few years. Ten thousands of people walk through the square every day. Ten thousands of cars travelled through Hlavní třída street which is situated next to the square. The square is surrounded by shops, patisseries, a lot of cafés and restaurants. The square serves as the place where a major part of Havířov`s events take place, for instance Havířov in Flowers, The Havířov lime-tree, Town Festival, etc. Every year the inhabitants of Havířov celebrate New Year´s Day there.
