Development of preparations
The representatives of the corporate town of Havířov Ing. Zdeněk Osmanczyk – the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, Ing. Radmila Friedlová - the head of printing department MMH, Mgr. Rudolfa Treichelová – the chairwoman of cultural heritage committee) and the Union of Flower Growers and Florists of the Czech Republic (Ing. Jiří Martínek – a member of presidium SKF ČR, and a pedagogue of Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno) competed in Lillehammer in Norway for becoming the organiser of Europa Cup in Floristics in 2011. The presentation of the Czech Republic and the town of Havířov was held on Friday, 16th October and on Saturday, 17th October 2009. The representatives of the town and the Union made triumphant return with victory which was not easy. The rivals were Italy and Russia. The first day the town was evaluated by the Administrative Council FLORINT and the second day by the General Assembly FLORINT. The presentation of the Czech Republic was variant, the authorities of the international organisation FLORINT will choose suitable places for organising the championship and confirm the proposed topics for the competition at the next visitation (for further information look at the visitation of the representatives of FLORINT 21.1. - 23.1. 2010). The town of Havířov proposed and submitted new three logos of the most significant and well-known competition EUROPA CUP 2011 ( EC 2011). Shortly after return, the logos were modified. The logo was officially chosen and baptised in 2010.
1. Visitation of the representatives of FLORINT in the days of 21.1. – 23.1.2010
Toine Zwitserlood – Deputy secretary of FLORINT and Ferenc Kruzslicz – the former member of the Administrative Council FLORINT, manager of competitions FLORINT, visited the Czech Republic and the town of Havířov in the days of 21st January – 23rd January 2010.
21st January the representatives of the corporate town of Havířov, SKF ČR and FLORINT were received in the Chamber of Deputies by its chairman and the logo of EC 2011 was officially introduced and baptised there.
22nd January the representatives of FLORINT and of The Union of Flower Growers and Florists were admitted by the Mayor František Chobot. The logo was introduced and baptised in the town. There were negotiations over websites of EC 2011 and contractual relations. The representatives got acquainted with the town, they visited sports halls and the conference rooms. They were also discussing on the preparations of the European Competition for Florists, EUROPA CUP 2011.
Result: 17th European Competition for Florists Europa Cup 2011 will be held in the days of 31.8.2011 – 5.9.2011. The competition itself will be held in the Town Sport Hall, the meeting of General Assembly FLORINT in Culture Centre Radost, the evening ceremonial act in the Petr Bezruč Community Centre. The representatives of FLORINT express their satisfaction with the preparation of EC 2011.
Quotation: “We haven´t seen so well organised championship yet. We are enthusiastic about the presentation of the project and we are very satisfied with the organisers` effort. It wasn´t like that all the time and many my white hairs arose from problems we had to solve in other countries,” Zwitserlood praised the readiness of the town.
2. Visitation of the representatives of FLORINT - 2nd September 2010
Preparatory meeting for Europa Cup in Floristics - Throughout the whole day preparatory meeting was held for organising of Europa Cup in Floristics which will take place in the town of Havířov next year. Toine Zwitserlood (Netherlands), the General Secretary of FLORINT, and other members of technical committee from Belgium, Hungary, Slovenia and Great Britain visit the town of Havířov. The representatives of FLORINT (international organization of florists) will come for organizational meeting and inspection. They will focus on actual process in preparation of competition EUROPA CUP 2011. Facilities where the whole event will take place such as conference rooms, accommodation facilities and catering services have been already reserved. Cultural House Radost, The Town Sport Hall, Cultural House of Petr Bezruč and Republic Square were shown to the committee.
Europa Cup in Floristics will take place from 31st August till 5th September 2011.
