DIRECTIONS FOR PRESS REPRESENTATIVES
EUROPA CUP 2011, held on 31. 8. 2011 – 5. 9. 2011 in Havířov, Czech Republic.
The EUROPA CUP 2011 is a top-level international competition for professional floral designers, serving various aims. Main ones are to raise the image of floristry and to educate florists. Presentation of the event in professional media and thus informing the florist is important to achieve these aims. Presentation of the competition and competitors in media thus has to support the image and marketing position of florists. It should also support the possibilities for organizing such events by promoting the competition as well as its sponsors, as without sponsorship such events cannot be organized.
This code of conduct for professional press is meant to ensure that these aims are respected and supported by press representatives. It also needs to ensure that the privacy and good working circumstances of competitors are respected.
With respect to this code „PRESS“means reporters, journalists, photographers, the correspondents of news agencies and film units.
PRESS ACCREDITATION FOR EC 2011
The accreditation will start on Wednesday 1st of June 2011.
APPLICATION FORM OF ACCREDITATION
The accreditation will be confirmed or refused by e-mail. Press accreditation is personal and not transferable.
An accreditation will be licensed to max. 2 representatives from each editor. For television units, an accreditation will be licensed for 3 representatives (1 editor, 1 cameraman, 1 technical support).
Accreditation cards and identification strips will be given on arrival in the PRESS CENTRE in Slavia Municipal Sports Hall in Havířov after showing an identification card (ID or driving license, passport).
PRESS representatives wanting to attend the competition EUROPA CUP 2011 need to be accredited for their whole presence at EC 2011 and have to carry an identification strip and an accreditation card on a visible place (tag of PRESS EC 2011). The organizer can check the accreditation card anytime during the event. They can and will remove any one not wearing a Press-tag from the site. In the case of loss of the accreditation tag, a new tag can be requested from the PRESS representative in the PRESS centre.
PRESS CODE OF CONDUCT
Access to the competitors and to the competition areas of EUROPA CUP 2011
1. Press representatives are allowed in the competition hall on Friday from 9.00 till 17.30 (in limited numbers) and on Saturday at all competition places at the same moments the public can enter.
2. Press representatives are not allowed to enter the competitors working areas during preparations and competition
is taking place on Friday and Saturday. During opening times on Sunday they are allowed to enter into the working areas, only on request with one of the supervisors present.
3. The privacy of competitors must be respected at all times during the competition, no photographing or shooting is allowed (for instance standing to close or flashing) which affects the concentration of competitors during their work.
Access to the competitors and to the competition area of EUROPA CUP 2011 out of competition time
1. The representatives of PRESS are not allowed to enter the competition areas and areas where competitors take breaks or relax between competition tasks.
2. PRESS is allowed to contact competitors after the end of competition outside of competition area.
3. The representatives of PRESS are allowed to film and take photographs out of the competition areas without any agreement.
4. The representatives of PRESS are not allowed to join the informal part of program EUROPA CUP 2011.
5. The organizer agreed special terms and conditions for the official media partner of EC 2011 (PROFI PRESS and journal Floristika).
General terms
1. The organizers do not bear any responsibility for the publication made by the representatives of PRESS for authorized as well as unauthorized materials regards the event EUROPA CUP 2011.
2. Official photo pictures and records made by the organizer will be provided for the representatives of PRESS free of charge during the competition. These materials can freely be used for press publications.
3. Any press article regards the EUROPA CUP should mention that the EUROPA CUP 2011 is organized jointly by the Town of Havirov, the Czech Growers and Florist Association and FLORINT and made possible by main sponsor Smithers Oasis and general sponsor McGreen. For this purpose the official logo EC 2011 and the organizers logos (corporate town of Havířov, UFGF CR and FLORINT), general sponsors logo (McGreen) and main sponsors logo (SmithersOasis) will be provided.
4. If representatives of PRESS break any term of this code of conduct, their accreditation can immediately be cancelled and / or an accreditation for any future event may be denied.
5. For more information about EC 2011 see www.ec2011.eu. Each representative of PREES will receive informational materials with the accreditation certificate and identification strip by the registration in the PRESS CENTER.
PRESS CENTER
Accredited journalists can use technical and information services of press center for their work during EUROPA CUP 2011.

on Sunday 4th of September 2011 from 9:00 to 19:00 o’clock
On Saturday 3rd September in Petr Bezruč Community Centre
on Saturday 3rd of September 2011 from 17:00 to 24:00 o’clock
There will be available computer, printer, copier, computer networking, WIFI in the Press Center.
